Hi! I offer online or in-person (Janakpuri, Delhi) private GMAT tutoring. To help you make an informed decision, the page will offer the following pieces of information:
Being a GMAT tutor, I am fortunate to be in a space where I can use and build upon my understanding of at least two of these areas.
Since I am passionately interested in how we learn and what comes in the way of learning, I have not settled with giving superficial advice to students who have struggled to improve. I dig deep to understand the root cause of their problems. Doing so helps the students make improvements that they had not been able to make despite taking multiple courses and, at times, tutoring from multiple tutors. Doing so helps me satiate my desire to learn more about how we learn. So, it’s a win-win 🙂
Other than these areas, I am hardly interested in any other topic, whether sports, politics, movies, or anything else. However, if I am discussing any of my three topics, I am super-charged 🙂
CHIRANJEEV SINGH
GMAT Coach
GMAT is a test of skills – reading, comprehension, quantitative, and data interpretation skills. B-schools value GMAT because the test score reflects the skills of the candidates. Given that the world’s top B-schools rely on the test, it must be well-designed.
How should you prepare for a well-designed test trying to assess your skills? By building those skills.
Unfortunately, I see many people try to score high on the test using hacks, shortcuts, and tricks. Quite naturally, such attempts lead to failures. This is NOT how I approach GMAT preparation. I help students build comprehension, reasoning, quantitative, and data interpretation skills so that they deserve the score they desire.
I have a structure to cover each section, subsection, and topic within each subsection. Each session is preceded by pre-session work and followed by post-session work. You are guided not only on what to do outside the sessions but also on how to do it.
I help you understand the source of your mistakes. Many a time, the immediate cause may not be the main cause of the mistake; there are layers of causes. By following the Japanese philosophy of asking five Whys and exploring the mistakes from multiple angles, we try to get to the source of the mistakes. Once we have the right diagnosis, which is often missing, finding the solution is not difficult.
Clarity is not only about knowing what is right but also about knowing why every other way is incorrect. In other words, mastery is not about getting a thing right; it’s about getting to a stage where you cannot get it wrong. Or, clarity is not about having the correct thought; it is about having ONLY the correct thought. I help you achieve clarity of thought not by lecturing the right way but by asking enough questions (and of course, offering assistance, if required) that you can see, by yourself, why correct is correct and why anything else cannot be correct.
Of course, you learn during the sessions. However, sessions comprise a fraction of your preparation time. Even if the sessions offer tremendous learning, your success depends majorly on what happens outside the sessions. Thus, my main value-add comes from giving you tools and processes so that you can learn effectively outside the sessions. Quite frequently, when I help students arrive at the right way of thinking by asking questions, I also tell them how I helped them arrive at the right way. The intent is to help you become a great self-learner.
My job doesn’t end up with the subject matter stuff. I want you to succeed, and I want you to enjoy the process that leads to success. Thus, I help you resolve your psychological and mindset issues regarding GMAT preparation.
“I highly recommend Chiranjeev for anyone looking to master the GMAT Verbal section. Rather than just teaching to the test, Chiranjeev focused on building a strong foundation in verbal reasoning and comprehension. The approach was holistic, emphasizing understanding over rote memorization.”
“CJ is a great tutor and a wonderful human being. What sets him apart is his simplistic approach to breaking any complex problem in easy-to-understand words. No matter how complex the concept and/or question, CJ knows exactly how to modify his approach based on the students’ current level. He is very humble with his approach and is extremely patient with his students. He creates a perfect environment to learn, ask questions, make mistakes, and keep moving forward. Tutor/Mentor/Friend… you are most likely to find that all three tags describe him perfectly.”
“The best thing about CJ’s approach is anyone having any level of proficiency can improve. His consistent focus on quality over quantity made me realize to focus on the analysis part more rather than rushing into the next question. CJ is not just a GMAT coach, he can certainly be called a life coach. His view that “every individual deserves respect” has changed my view on life. I have gradually reduced measuring my worth based on how well I am doing on a test (GMAT) and in my professional field. This helped me immensely to become less anxious during my GMAT exam and to become more confident during my MBA interviews. I would highly recommend CJ to all who want to ace GMAT while being at peace during the GMAT journey.
INR 13,500 per hour, i.e., INR 27,000 per session (Every session is for 2 hours)
For 10 or more hours, INR 11,500 per hour, i.e., INR 23,000 per session (The payment for 10 hours needs to be made in one go.)
For 20 or more hours, INR 10,500 per hour, i.e., INR 21,000 per session (The payment for 20 hours needs to be made in one go.)
It depends on the content you want to cover in the sessions. If you want to cover sections comprehensively in the sessions – covering Verbal comprehensively will take about 22 hours; for quant, 40 hours; for DI, 16 hours.
Since the pace of the sessions depends entirely on the pace the student can comfortably learn at, the number of hours varies from student to student. Thus, even if two students cover the same content, they may end up taking very different number of hours. The above numbers are just rough averages.
Many people approach me to cover specific topics or help them diagnose their problems in specific sub-sections. In such cases, even two or four hours may be enough. Of course, during the session, we may discover that the student needs more help.
Besides, some students need more handholding than others. This also impacts the number of sessions one may need.
